The dormer windows are beautiful, but usually are a pain when it comes to put a curtain rod on them….
Actually, mainly because of technical aspects (roof, insulation thickness), there is no sufficient space above the window for a curtain rod ; therefore the outcome is a very large curtain hanged directly on the attic outside of the window frame…. not very nice, isn’t it ?
In collaboration with the manufacturer Art & Fer Forgé (based in Luberon, Southern France) which produces curtain rods in wrought iron upon measure (which with I already worked on previous projects), we ellaborated a special model of curtain rod for this type of dormer windows. It allows a curtain rod right above the window, with full opening, nice and elegant:
